Recognising the exciting opportunities offered by ‘Big Data’ for enhanced international collaboration, an early focus of T-AP has been the development of a digital pilot. In January 2015, the UK Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Social Science & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) organised a workshop over two days which brought together members of the T-AP Management Team and Steering Committee with key experts and stakeholders from academia, the public sector and industry to scope and shape the themes of this pilot, with practical and interactive discussion of data and research priorities, interdisciplinary/inter-sectoral engagement, and training, capacity building and impact.
